As the closest hotel to the University of Miami, THesis is keeping you up to date on the latest Miami Hurricanes policies. With the home opener scheduled for September 10, 2020, here’s a quick recap of new policies and things you need to know in advance.
Hard Rock Stadium Capacity and Requirements
To kick off the Canes season, Hard Rock Stadium will limit capacity to 13,000 fans to allow for socially distanced seating. All employees and fans over the age of two will be required to wear masks while in the stadium except while actively eating and drinking. In addition, fans can expect the following changes for the 2020-21 football season:
Increased sanitation at Hard Rock Stadium (GBAC Certified)
Mobile ticketing for entry and parking
Touchless security scan and entry points
Hand sanitizing stations throughout the stadium
Smoke-free stadium with the removal of smoking-designated areas
Cashless experience using credit card or the Miami Hurricanes app
Staggered gate entry based on assigned ticket group
Parking & Tailgating
Parking lots for Miami Hurricanes games will now be open two hours prior to the game instead of four. UM Athletics also announced that tailgating for the 2020 season will not be permitted. For an alternative and socially distant tailgating experience, ditch the stadium for THesis’ rooftop pool and terrace lounge where we air Canes games all season long.
Miami Hurricanes Ticketing
Canes tickets are not available to purchase at this time. UM students and season ticket holders will receive direct communication regarding their tickets. Learn more about changes to the 2020-21 Miami Hurricanes season here.
